What are the teaching and team time structures like?

Teachers work about twenty hours per week teaching, and spend about ten additional hours of preparation weekly.

Team meetings are twice a week. Informal team time to enjoy life and work together as well as intentional one-on-ones are also essential to the team structure.

What does ongoing professional/personal development look like?

Each fall during team orientation, we set team and individual goals for personal development. As a team, we hold each other accountable for these goals with check-ins throughout the year.

Since each university has unique professional development units, teachers are required to fulfill these at their respective universities. We work with teachers in any areas where the university feels they need improvement.

What is housing like?

At some schools, housing is provided by the university. Where this is not the case, the team helps new teachers find housing near their school and their teammates.

What is it like to raise a family in Turkey?

Turkish people love children, making this a caring place to raise a family!

If only one spouse is teaching, the other is still actively engaged in all of the team activities and connecting with local friends. There is no shortage of opportunities for hospitality here! Hosting get-togethers for team and local friends is a beautiful investment in community.
