Tunisia
A country of contrasts with an eagerness to learn.
Tunisia is a country of stark contrasts. Traditions are rooted in simple ways of living, yet cell phones, the Internet, and social media are changing the way Tunisians view the world. They tend to be less conservative than other people of Muslim faith in some ways but maintain a strong Islamic identity and a culture centralized on family.
Tunisia’s young population (60% under the age of 30) is excited to explore the world beyond their borders, while students from all over North Africa are drawn to study here. Teachers here are opening doors for future leaders from the whole region, and we couldn’t be more excited to join our local partners in this work.
